"Which Side Are You On?"

Watercolor by Moira Hahn (detail, right side)

Overall dimensions: 10" x 15"

Copyright 2007

This title comes from the owl's confusion. He's under attack by a couple of tengu. Tengu are mischievous little bird-like demons who often support the underdog in inter-species interactions. The owl had thought they'd side with him, as a fellow bird in battle with a cat. Tengu, however, are also recognized as capricious and unpredictable. Apparently they felt no particular loyalty in this situation.
